Co-PResidents and Co-Operations
BILL ZHENG
Bill is a grade 11 partial IB student at Henry Wise Wood High School. He has been involved with the effective speaking circuit in both China and Canada since grade one, competing in several speech competitions. In his free time, Bill enjoys expressing his creativity through film, photography, and classical piano, placing very high in many international competitions for all 3.
VERONICA CHEON
Veronica is a grade 11 student working towards her IB diploma at Henry Wise Wood High School. Veronica has been an active member of both her junior high and high school debate team programs since grade six In addition, she is heavily involved with the speech realm and has been recognized by organizations such as MRU speech and debate as well as Toastmasters International.

WEILAN ZHANG
Weilan, branding director, is a full IB student in grade 11 this year at Western Canada High School. Her debate journey began in grade seven over her public speaking classes at MRU. In grade 9, she was involved with the speech club, and in grade 10 participate in the Debate Club and Model UN.
EYASU YAKOB
Our director of marketing, Eyasu, is a senior this year at Archbishop Macdonald High School in Edmonton, AB. Eyasu’s journey with debate started when he was in grade 10, and in 2020 his debate team was selected as the top novice debate team at the Edmonton Regional Debate Tournament. When Eyasu has time to himself, he loves to read and practice guitar.

JAMIE WANG
Jamie is our treasurer at Alibid Society. She is currently a grade 10 student at Western Canada High School. At western, she is involved with both the Model UN and Debate teams, exploring how powerful the voice can be. Jamie loves learning new coding languages, Netflix, stocks, and most importantly her dog.
IVY SHI
Ivy, VP of Outreach, is a grade 10 student at Joane Cardinal-Schubert High School. Her speech experience roots from the effective speech program in cadets, Toastmasters International, and Optimist Canada. Some of her speech achievements include a regional award at the Southern Alberta RCACS competition. If she ever has free time, she enjoys coding, sail, and explore new boba shops in downtown Calgary.
